That’s Why We Praise Him

I love to sing along with the church congregation on Sunday mornings. When we come together in agreement with one another our prayers and praises are carried in song to the throne of our Lord and King. Even though we are all different, we are all united in the love of the Father. “We all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). None of us are righteous. None of us are without blame; no not one (Romans 3:10). Yet, each of us has been extended the hand of mercy and grace at the cross of Calvary. For by His grace are we saved through faith and not of ourselves; it is a gift of God (Ephesians 2:8).

The song “Jesus Paid It All” especially hits a chord of humility, awe, and praise within my heart. This is the very reason that we praise and rejoice in His presence daily. We deserve nothing but death, but “Jesus paid it all” and “All to Him I owe.” Why? Because, “Sin had left a crimson stain, He washed it white as snow.”
I don’t think we will ever completely understand the cost of what Christ did for us on the cross while we live here on Earth. But I know that the least we can do is give praise and thanks to our Lord God for inviting a sinful people like us to become His Holy children. Washed clean from sin, set free from death, destined to live forever in Him; that’s why we praise Him!
